A publisher is a natural person or a legal entity who has acquired the rights to publish a work on the basis of a valid licensing agreement. The publisher is obliged to submit to SOZA all agreements and contracts that may be related to the distribution of the publisher's shares.
A publisher who has entered into a licensing agreement to publish a work of an author not represented by SOZA is obliged to complete a Registration of the work and deliver it to SOZA. The publisher is responsible for the accuracy of the data provided in the Registration.
Should an author represented by SOZA enter into a licensing agreement to publish their work with a publisher who is not represented by SOZA, that work shall be deemed by SOZA to be unpublished for the purposes of royalty distribution, and the author shall be responsible for settling the rights of the non-represented publisher.
Should the author of a musical work with lyrics enter into a licensing agreement with only one co-author (i.e. only with the composer or only with the lyricist), the publisher's share of the royalties shall be calculated only from the share of the author with whom the publisher entered into the licensing agreement.
Should a rights holder enter into multiple licensing agreements to publish the same work in the same territory, SOZA shall register the first such agreement. SOZA shall not be responsible for any disputes arising from this situation, and any consequences or damages shall be borne by the rights holder.

After the membership application is received, SOZA shall send a draft of the Representation Agreement to the membership candidate, together with an invoice for the administrative fee. The Supervisory Board shall decide on accepting the membership candidate within 90 days of receiving the application. SOZA membership begins on the day the Representation Agreement is signed by both SOZA and the membership candidate.
